Naturally, musician’s find their sound through the gear in their rig such their amps, their effects pedals and their guitars. Still, did you ever wonder what today’s top musician’s use as guitar strings? Do they purchase top of the line strings? Do they use a heavy gauge or a light gauge?

When it comes to Pearl Jam, it seems they prefer the goold GHS Boomers. According this Riot Act recording gear chart provided by Sony Music (every label should provide information like this!), Both Mike McCready and Stone Gossard use light gauge (.10 to .046) GHS Boomers on their electric guitars during the recording of this album.  It just goes to show that you don’t have to splurge to make good music!
